Charlotte Heath-Kelly is a Professor of Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick. Her research explores the multi-agency partnerships that have brought Counterterrorism Policing into collaboration with frontline services, like health, education, and social care.
Her most recent book, coauthored with Dr Sadi Shanaah, is The Politics of Preventing Violent Extremism: Liberal Democracy, Civil Society and Countering Radicalisation (Oxford University Press 2025). It analyses the spread of Preventing Violent Extremism programs across regions of Europe and their impact on democracy and rights. Charlotte also plays an active role in her local Trade Union branch (UCU), leading the casework team.
