Janet Dean brings extensive leadership and governance experience from a career in local government and the voluntary sector.

During her local government career, Janet managed housing and social services, environmental services and economic development, and was part of executive leadership teams in both a London Borough and a northern Metropolitan Borough. Over the past two decades, she has continued to support organisations through consultancy, non-executive and voluntary roles across health, higher education, housing associations and charities. 

Janet currently serves as Deputy Chair of Council and Chair of the Governance and Nominations Committee and Brunel University of London, as well as Chair of Ebor Arts Society in York. Alongside her professional and voluntary commitments, she is actively involved in the Quaker community, serving as one of the three co-clerks of York Area Meeting.
