JRCT is looking for a person with a deep commitment to the mission and values of the Trust who will, as part of the Senior Leadership team, lead in developing and implementing a comprehensive reparations programme which will further JRCT’s charitable purposes for the public benefit.
- Bachelor’s degree in law, history, social policy, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Change Management or Project Management qualification or equivalent experience
You will have experience of:
- Participating in strategic decision making and exercising leadership at a senior management level, preferably in a charitable or voluntary organisation
- Demonstrable experience in programme management, particularly in social justice, reparations, human rights, or related fields.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects and leading teams.
- Experience working with third-party partners and intermediaries to deliver change.
- Experience in running participatory research and/or consultation processes with Global Majority communities
- Ability to develop and implement project plans that align with and complement wider organisational strategy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex issues to diverse audiences.
- Strong leadership skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis, impact assessment, and the ability to translate research findings into actionable strategies.
- Deep understanding of the historical and contemporary issues surrounding colonialism, slavery, racial injustice, and reparations.
- Passionate about addressing historical injustices and promoting equity and justice.
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity and ethical standards in all aspects of work.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
- Strong empathy and sensitivity to the experiences and needs of affected communities.
- Brings a balanced, pragmatic approach — comfortable working where ideal solutions may need adapting to real-world constraints including constraints arising from charity law and regulation
- Believe in the transformations of individuals, groups and institutions
