New experts to join JRCT's investment committee

We're pleased to welcome James Barty and Abigail Rotheroe to our Investment Committee.

Our specialist co-opted members are invited to offer their expert opinion and guidance to the committee which meets three times a year.

James, pictured below left, is managing director of investment strategy at the Church Commissioners, where he oversees all public markets investments and private markets ex-real estate. He has a background as an economist, investment strategist and portfolio manager.

Abigail, pictured below right, has a wide range of experience in portfolio management with a strong focus on responsible investment, currently serving on a number of investment trust boards and other committees.

As a Quaker trust which supports people who address the root causes of conflict and injustice we primarily further our mission through grant funding. However, our investments, and our behaviour as an investor and that of our fund managers, also contribute to this aim.

Our strategy seeks to fund the Trust’s grant making programmes over the long term and to invest in enterprises which seek to realise our aims and to avoid investing in corporations whose activities conflict with our aims, and to encourage business to be ethical, socially responsible and to protect the environment.
