Maki Kimura and Taniel Yusef join our Peace and Security committee

We're pleased to have welcomed Maki Kimura and Taniel Yusef to our Peace and Security committee to advise on grant-making.

Maki (pictured below left) is a lecturer in gender and politics at University College London. The focus of her research and teaching is gender and race in/equality, colonialism, militarism, war memories/memorials, urban agriculture and food insecurity. She is the author of Unfolding the ‘Comfort Women’ Debates: Modernity, Violence and Women’s Voices. 

Taniel (pictured below right) currently works at the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk, Cambridge University where she focuses on on regulation, risk modelling and translation linking AI, autonomous weapons, cyber, nuclear and outer space threats. She is an ICAN member and lecturer in Humanitarian Intervention MSc at the University of East London.

They are the latest co-optees to join JRCT. Earlier this summer John Barry, Zarina Ahmad, and Lena Mohamed joined our Sustainable Future committee, along with Abigail Rotheroe and James Barty who joined our Investment committee.
