Saferworld

Case study

Saferworld is an international charity working to prevent violent conflict and build safer lives in twenty countries worldwide. It seeks to create environments where people play an active role in preventing and transforming conflict and building peace; have access to fair and effective paths to address the grievances and inequalities that drive conflict; and where people with influence exercise power to promote just and equitable societies.

JRCT provides a grant through its Peace and Security programme for Saferworld’s work on promoting constructive alternatives to counter-terror. This focuses on identifying flaws in current UK policy and advocating effective alternative approaches to build lasting peace. This work is a good fit with the Trust’s Peace and Security funding priorities, in particular scrutinising counter-terror measures and building support for alternative approaches.
