Welcoming new staff to JRCT

We're pleased to have welcomed new members of staff to the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust (JRCT) in recent months.

Andrea Downey has joined us as interim financial controller, Charlotte Cooper as grants officer on our Power and Accountability programme, Jo Wilce as programme manager on our Sustainable Future programme, Kieran Nelson as finance assistant, Sarah Smith as interim head of people and Tom Donnelly as grants officer on the Peace and Security programme.

Andrea is a chartered management accountant (CIMA qualified) and has worked in both the private and public sectors in Europe and the UK.

Charlotte has previously worked at Quakers in Britain, where she led the organisation's peace campaigning work, and at Child Rights International Network, where she coordinated campaigns to end the recruitment of under-18s by the British armed forces and to challenge violations of children's rights by UK counter-terrorism policy.

Jo joined us from  Friends Provident Foundation, a philanthropic charity working to promote economic systems change, where she has managed a wide portfolio of grants and led on their cross-organisational learning strategy. She has also worked in local government and in various countries including Kenya, South Africa and Sri Lanka.

Kieran previously worked for a not for profit healthcare society, for an accountancy practice and a student accommodation provider.

Sarah brings extensive experience in providing HR support and strategic leadership within the charity and non-profit sector.

Tom has worked in peacebuilding since 2006 with the Oxford Research Group, Saferworld, Oxfam, American Friends Service Committee, Concordis International and Trocaire.
