About the other Rowntree Trusts
There are three Rowntree Trusts, each of which is independent of the others.
Joseph Rowntree Foundation
One of the largest social policy research and development charities in the UK, the JRF seeks to better understand the causes of social difficulties, and to explore ways of overcoming them.
The JRF is also involved in practical housing and care work through the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust.
Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust Limited
The JRRT promotes democratic reform, constitutional change and social justice, both in the UK and elsewhere. It is a non-charitable limited company and is therefore free to give grants for political purposes.
The JRRT and JRCT have collaborated on various initiatives combating racism and encouraging democratic renewal, including research into voting behaviour in towns in the North of England, and the Power Inquiry.
